From sandbars to A-frames, however you want to describe it there is no shortage of corners at Straddie. Offering up both launch ramps and backdoor tubes, it’s a free surfers paradise.
Straddie’s is a bit of a swell magnet. She’ll take it however she can get it, but she loves the south swells in particular. The closer to the headland you stay the more size there tends to be.
There’s a fiercely dedicated local contingent that call Straddie home, and it’s good they do, because over the years they’ve been the ones to protect it from various forms of development. Just a few clicks away from Coolengatta, there is no shortage of talent in these lineups.
